I don't want to sound like a fool, but I really mean it when I say that all of my customers are freaking awesome! I lost count of how many time I said that they weren't pansy and they aware of cross-culture ... and so on. Anthony was awesome, plus he doesn't let his ego get into the way of meeting new people.
He is a guy covered with tattoos, big piercings and is a tough guy with a beard. Yes, if you only walk past him you may not think this man is friendly. But while we were having conversations there was not one time that he told his stories just to show off. His stories made for joyful conversation and that was our class. Not only did the stories he told but also the knowledge he taught me made the class fun and turned out to be something I appreciate. How lucky I am to met such good people.
He e-mailed me saying he would like to learn how to cook "Chiang Mai Sausage". I think it was a very cute name. I'd never heard an outsider call it anything but "Sai Ua"
Ok, I have to write about the cooking part too. I am very happy to also tell this part of our class because he was an awesome cook. How could that be?! I told you my students kick ass. With him all the cooking processes were done in a very professional way. I asked him to mince the pork for me. Immediately after, he asked me how fine? You might say I was just over-reacting, but if you are in my field, you will know that you are in good hands. Another reason that I was so happy was because I can give him extra Thai traditional cuisine knowledge. And that made almost perfect culture through food class.
