Northern Thai creamy curry noodles. Another great day. I taught tradition and culture lovers. The main requirement was "coconut milk," I offered a list of Thai dishes which for sure would cover their hands with coconut flakes. The winner was Khao Soi Gai.
Before everyone was starving from the tasks to cook Khao Soi Gai, I divided my lovely students into 2 groups. There were 2 main tasks, making coconut milk and making Khao Soi curry paste. Because each task took quite a time, everyone got a chance to cook every thing. We first started with cracking their coconuts. I would say that all of my students found it difficult on the first try. However, everyone made it nice and strong! While my students were cracking the coconut, I felt like a drill sergeant. I kept shouting, of course to encourage them, "HARDER....HARDEEEEEER!!". And the tasks began from there. There were scraping, squeezing, peeling, chopping, roasting, grinding, pan-frying, deep-frying and boiling.
One thing that I very love about this class was that everyone helping each other. Not only worked in the group but also between four of them too. I love seeing how small activity, cooking, can helps people working together and that reflects the better world. And I love to see how much my students loved Thai herds. They cannot get enough to taste and smell the single one of herds while it had been cooking in a difference way. I love to see how much they want to learn Thai culture even when they cooking, they would love to sat on the floor just like Thai do. Everyone got a red knees. But no one gave up on sitting on the floor still. I know I can keep mentioning my happiness just teaching this class, but this going to be the last one I will be mentioning before you guys get bored by me. It is that my students this class were so Thai, everyone of them were adding more chills into their Khao Soi bowl. Good job guys xx
