He is my kind of person. He likes to spend his leisure hours in the kitchen. Out of his professional life, he said, for example, he likes to make his own broth for Vietnamese noodle soup, which take 5 or more hours to get ready. This is how he spends his leisure time on the weekend.
This man requested Nam Prik
This is his first time in Chiang Mai and I was extremely happy that he loved the idea of learning how to make "Nam Prik". The reason for my happiness was because, by choice, he loves to learn Thai culture. Nam Prik is a very unique kind of local Thai food. Everywhere in Thailand has a different kind of flavour. In traditional Thai cuisine, we have Nam Prik at least once a day.
I was super happy and surprised that he wanted to make this dish, so I asked him how did you know about "Nam Prik"? He said that he went to one really local market in Chiang Mai and got himself some Crispy pork (แคบหมู) and Nam Prik that he should have with it. He said he just ate it right away and finished it before he even knew what happened. So here he was, learning the things he enjoys. No matter where he goes, he will not have to live without a happy tummy ever again. That's a good way to live one's life, I would say.
